Technician

Job duties include:

  • Support engineering staff in the design, fabrication, test of thermal products and support hardware.
  • Procure materials, as required; submit requests for quote or manufacture to suppliers, obtain price quotations, generate purchase orders and obtain appropriate approvals, place purchase orders, work with suppliers on delivery schedule.
  •  Inspect incoming materials per established procedures.
  • Identify materials, both incoming and in-process, as required per material identification and inspection procedures.
  • Braze or solder thermal products and support hardware.
  • Use initiative, imagination and knowledge to assist design, fabrication and test of thermal products and support hardware.
  • Acts to assure product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Aides in the development of responsive delivery schedules.
  • Assists in the development of fabrication and test procedures and methods.
  • Perform preventive maintenance.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections, as required.
  • Follow Foreign Object Damage Protection procedures when working on Aerospace product contracts.

Minimum requirements include:

  • Certificate from technical school or minimum 3 years of related experience
  • Experience with fabricating, brazing, machining, assembly and testing
  • Basic electricity skills

Research and Development Engineer

This is a hands-on position and involves all aspects of planning and managing research projects from bid and proposal (B&P) to final deliverables.  Perform mechanical and thermal design and analyses to support research project requirements.  Work with laboratory technicians to fabricate and test thermal hardware

Job duties include:

  • Evaluate potential research programs from customers to determine applicability to company expertise.
  • Write research proposals and/or quotation for customers including Bill of materials and labor estimates, as required.
  • Conduct mechanical and thermal design and analyses per customer specifications.
  • Generate drawings per customer requirements.
  • Work with supplier base to manufacture required components.  Generate and approve supplier purchase orders.
  • Document reports, both interim and final, detailing program progress, problems and proposed solutions.
  • Document program schedules.
  • Document fabrication and test procedures.
  • Establish and document work plan for laboratory technicians to complete proposed tasks.
  • Communicate progress with customer.
  • Assist and provide supervision to technicians in all aspects of fabrication and testing to assure product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Evaluate and report test results.
  • Monitor project costs to assure budget is not exceeded.
  • Assist marketing personnel in evaluating potential market opportunities.
  • Write follow-on research proposals for continuation funding.
  • Perform final inspections, as required.
  • Generate, disposition, and implement Engineering Change Notices and generate ECN status accounting reports, as required.
  • Work to generate product Control Plan Summary, as required.
  • Authorize disposition of Nonconforming Materials.
  • Perform First Article Inspections, as required.
  • Follow Foreign Object Damage Protection procedures when working on Aerospace product contracts.

 

Minimum requirements include:

  • B.S., M.S., or PhD degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Prior experience in using modern design and analyses software such as SolidWorks (CAD) and Cosmosworks (FEA)
  • Prior experience in using computational data acquisition systems, such as LabView.
  • Prior experience in designing and conducting mechanical/thermal experiments.
  • Good verbal and written skills essential.
  • Prior experience using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) a plus.
