ACT Current Positions

Advanced Cooling Technologies, Inc. (ACT) develops thermal management technologies and products for commercial, military and government customers. Our customers include the U.S. Air Force, Army, Navy, DOE, NASA, NSF, and commercial corporations across the globe. We work to solve some of the most challenging thermal problems in electronic, biomedical, military and aerospace systems. ACT has immediate need for several foll-time positions. All positions are located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.


Product Development Engineer:

This is a hands-on position and involves all aspects of planning and managing research projects from bid and proposal (B&P) to final deliverables.  Perform mechanical and thermal design and analyses to support research project requirements.  Work with laboratory technicians to fabricate and test thermal hardware.

Job duties include:

  1. Evaluate potential research programs from customers to determine applicability to company expertise.
  2. Write research proposals and/or quotation for customers including Bill of materials and labor estimates, as required.
  3. Conduct mechanical and thermal design and analyses per customer specifications.
  4. Generate drawings per customer requirements.
  5. Work with supplier base to manufacture required components.  Generate and approve supplier purchase orders.
  6. Establish and document work plan for laboratory technicians to complete proposed tasks.
  7. Assist and provide supervision to technicians in all aspects of fabrication and testing to assure product quality and customer satisfaction.
  8. Evaluate and report test resolts.
  9. Write follow-on proposals for continuation funding.

Minimum requirements include:

  1. B.S. degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  2. Prior experience in using modern design and analyses software such as SolidWorks (CAD) and Cosmosworks (FEA)
  3. Prior experience in using computational data acquisition systems, such as LabView.
  4. Prior experience in designing and conducting mechanical/thermal experiments.
  5. Good verbal and written skills essential.
  6. Prior experience using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) a plus.

Research and Development Engineer

This position involves all aspects of planning and managing engineering projects from preparation of proposals/quotes to delivery of finished products.

The job duties include:

  1. Developing new research programs through technical marketing & proposal preparation and submission.
  2. Managing and performing technical work to meet research program objectives.
  3. Conduct mechanical and thermal design and analyses per customer specifications.
  4. Generate drawings per customer requirements.
  5. Work with a team of engineers and technicians to execute research programs.

Minimum requirements include:

  1. B.S. or M.S. degrees in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  2. Proficiency in using commercial CAD, FEA and CFD software
  3. Good verbal and written skills

Business Development:  

Business Development is responsible for efforts in all aspects of sales and marketing and is responsible for bringing in new customers and working on maintaining customer relations with current customer base.  Business Development must interact effectively with engineering, production, quality, as well as  managers.

Job duties include:

  1. Develop Target Customers List and Plans
  2. Identify New Product and Technology Development Opportunities
  3. Conduct Advertising Campaigns (magazines, direct mailing; press releases)
  4. Conduct Market Surveys and Analysis
  5. Conduct Statistical Analysis on Opportunities/Quotes
  6. Tracking Effectiveness of Marketing Campaigns
  7. Develop and Maintain Customer Databases
  8. Conduct Customer Surveys
  9. Conduct Customer Visits and Presentations (existing and/or potential)
  10. Process Customer Inquiries
  11. Prepare and Submit Quotes/Proposals (w/. approval from relevant group managers)
  12. Track Quotes and Proposals

 

Minimum requirements include:

  1. B.S. Degree in Business or Engineering.
  2. Prior Experience in Technical Sales and Marketing.
  3. Excellent Verbal and Written skills.
  4. Excellent Organization Skills.
  5. Ability to Use Modern Sales/Marketing Management Software.
