ACT's Engineering Products & Services Group specializes in terrestrial thermal product design and manufacture. This Group offers heat pipes and related products and services to commercial and military applications including electronics cooling, fuel cell thermal control and waste heat recovery.

  • Copper/Water Heat Pipes typically operate in the temperature range of 20 to 150°C and are used in cooling of electronics, catalytic reactors and fuel cells.

  • Vapor Chamber Heat Pipes are planar heat pipes that have been primarily used as heat spreaders for cooling of high heat flux microprocessors and power electronics.

  • HiK Aluminum and AlSiC Plates are aluminum and AlSiC plates embedded with heat pipes. These plates have effective thermal conductivities between 500 and 800W/m-K, depending on the dimensions and layouts. The use of the AlSiC material allows direct bond of low CTE (coefficient of thermal expansion) electronic devices onto the HiK plates. HiK plates have been used in cooling of RF components in military and commercial systems.

In addition to the heat pipe products, ACT offers a variety of custom products to satisfy specific application requirements. These custom products include pumped liquid and two-phase loops.
