Feasibility Studies
Using ACT’s Feasibility Studies, our customers, across many industries, have been provided with fundamentally sound thermal solutions for their projects. Using ACT’s significant experience in all major thermal, fluid, mechanical, material, chemical, and manufacturing engineering fields, combined with our leading edge simulation capabilities, a Feasibility Study can identify viable thermal solutions. In many cases this information is provided before significant time and money was invested (and potentially wasted) in designing and building the product. A Feasibility Study is generally recommended when new ideas, devices, opportunities are being explored. This step ensures that when a trade study or formal design is initiated, validated thermal solution concepts are already established. In all these Studies, the same basic process steps are always sequentially executed:
- Work with the customer to define/quantify, as much as possible, the operating conditions and environment that the device will need to function in. (Obviously the more accurate and detailed the input information is, the more accurate and detailed the output information will be. But in many cases, very early on the project lifecycle, only preliminary information is known and that is all that is required for a Feasibility Study.)
- Using ACT’s expert thermal knowledge and leading edge modeling capability, evaluate options. We generate quantitative information that our experts can interpret for you.
- Communicate the results to you. Through a summary report and/or presentation, ACT will provide a technically sound thermal assessment of your project needs. Results are communicated in clear, understandable manner to enable you to accurately evaluate thermal performance in potential next steps.
If you are working on a new idea or product with thermal properties to accommodate consider having an ACT Feasibility Study performed. As many of our customers have experienced, a Feasibility Study, particularly when completed early in the product development cycle, can save time and money.
