ACT maintains a strong research and development group that serves two purposes: to support ACT’s Thermal Products and Engineering Services businesses by developing new products and processes and to expand ACT’s long term technical position by exploring leading edge applications, technologies and processes. All the R&D activities are funded by either external customers or ACT’s Internal R&D Program. Examples of external funding sources include the U.S. Government’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR), Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR), Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) and other R&D programs. In addition, the R&D group conducts confidential development work for clients worldwide.
