Lancaster, Pennsylvania – May 26, 2009 – Advanced Cooling Technologies, Inc. (ACT) has recently been awarded multiple research and development contracts totaling more than $3M. All of these contracts were awarded in 2009.
These R&D contracts were successful results of ACT’s competitive bids for various U.S. government agencies’ BAA’s (Broad Agency Announcement), SBIR (Small Business Innovative Research) and STTR (Small Business Technology Transfer) programs. The technologies under these contracts include advanced Heat Pipes, Variable Conductance Heat Pipes, Loop Heat Pipes, Refrigeration Systems, HVAC Heat Exchangers, Enhanced Condensation Surfaces, and Thermal Modeling Techniques. These technologies cover a wide range of applications including spacecraft and planetary surface systems thermal control, avionics cooling, laser cooling, HVAC, and microprocessor cooling. On many of these projects, ACT is working with partners and subcontractors in industry and academia.
