Advanced Cooling Technologies Recognized as an Outstanding Supplier by General Dynamics

LANCASTER, PAAdvanced Cooling Technologies, Inc (ACT) has been recognized by General Dynamics Mission Systems (GD-MS), a leading global aerospace and defense company, for their work in developing thermal management solutions for critical spaceflight hardware that will support a major national security project.

General Dynamics Mission Systems Supplier Award“We are pleased to award Advanced Cooling Technologies with the Outstanding Supplier Performance Award,” said Richard Gray, Director, Trusted Space Solutions National Systems Programs at General Dynamics. “This project brought with it several challenges and we were very impressed with ACT’s capabilities and how their team executed and supported the program.”

The partnership between ACT and GD-MS will ultimately provide critical avionics systems for numerous government satellites. This program includes GD-MS cutting edge electronics design, used to add on-board processing capabilities for faster military intelligence; this capability leads to more localized waste heat, which requires enhanced heat spreading. With the support of ACT-engineered Space Copper Water Heat Pipes (SCWHPs) GD-MS was able to maintain safe operating temperatures while meeting overall project and flight schedules for their customer.

“This project was especially exciting for our team as it was the first project using our most advanced, GEN III, space copper water heat pipes” said Jens Weyant, VP of Product Development at Advanced Cooling Technologies, Inc. “GEN III represents the most proven, space flight ready manufacturing techniques to meet the rigorous environmental challenges”

“We are proud to support the General Dynamics team in developing and providing this mission-critical, enabling technology, in support of their mission. With close collaboration with the General Dynamics team, we were able to swiftly work through challenges as they cropped up. We look forward to supporting any future missions they may have.” Said Ryan Spangler- Lead Engineer, Orbital Systems at Advanced Cooling Technologies, Inc.

General Dynamics estimates that the project will be complete by 2024 and they will continue to partner with ACT throughout that timeline.

“Receiving this award from General Dynamics is very meaningful to our team” added Weyant, “It represents the values we strive to uphold as a company: Innovation, Teamwork, and Customer Care.”
