Largest Order of 8-ton ECUs in Company History
York, PA: Advanced Cooling Technologies (ACT) will build a total of 400 plus Tekgard 8-ton Environmental Control Units (ECUs) for Hunter Defense Technologies Global (HDT Global) by the end of 2021. While ACT’s Tekgard division has manufactured ECUs for HDT since 2006, this is a dramatic increase in annual production.
This order features the new Tekgard Skid-mounted ECUs, which allow warfighters to easily transport and unload the units from trucks or Humvees wherever a US Army’s Standardized Integrated Command Post System (SICP) is required. This is a significant mobility benefit over the previous trailer-mounted versions.
ACT’s York-based Tekgard Division was able to fulfill this order because of its dedicated, cross-trained manufacturing team. Teams from the engineering, purchasing, quality assurance, and production departments, including Tekgard’s in-house testing facilities, all worked together to meet the challenges imposed by the increased demand. Their strong vendor base, flexible work cells, and committed staff supported the companies ability to provide record numbers of high-quality, highly-reliable ECUs to warfighters.
