ACT Receives 2018 Supplier Excellence Award from L3 Technologies

Lancaster, PA, May 13, 2019 – Advanced Cooling Technologies, Inc. (ACT) announced today that the company received the 2018 Supplier Excellence Award from L3 Technologies (L3T), an award given to suppliers that show “exemplary performance and commitment to L3 Technologies.”

On this particular program, ACT and L3T began a partnership in late 2017 to develop a thermal management solution to meet rigorous power, environmental and long-term production objectives. ACT developed a solution that introduced an alternate thermal management technology to the system. The resulting design met all strict thermal and mechanical requirements needed for an avionics application, as well as lowering the manufacturing cost in both low rate and production volumes.

This development program included an expedited design period during which ACT engineers analytically demonstrated the ability for the new thermal technology to meet all mission requirements.  This included technology implementation, mechanical feature development and detailed thermal simulations. Craig Archuleta, L3T’s Manager of Supply Chain Engineering was involved in all engineering communication and provided the following feedback, “I do Critical Design Reviews monthly and I’ve found few that have the engineering depth, robustness and the technical acumen that this team has.”

Once the design concluded, manufacturing workplans were developed for the initial low rate build. ACT successfully delivered these parts on time and on-quality. “A 100% quality rating for a supplier is rarely heard of, especially for a new supplier,” said Dan Anderson, L3T’s Quality Manager.

ACT and L3T continue to partner on production builds of this part.

ACT specializes in advanced thermal technology development and custom thermal product manufacturing.
