Lancaster, PA, May 21, 2019 – Advanced Cooling Technologies, Inc. (ACT), based in Lancaster County, is an internationally known advanced thermal technology company that has not forgotten its Central PA roots. Most recently, the organization sponsored a team to run in the YWCA Race Against Racism and volunteered together at the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank.
At the YWCA Race Against Racism, held Saturday, April 27th in downtown Lancaster, ACT’s “Advanced Cool Runnings” team took home the award for Largest Team from a Large Business (over 100 employees), with 45 participants. In addition, three employees finished in the top ten of their age division. Andy Lutz (20:41) – 5th place in age group, Kristen Frawley (25:12) – 8th place in age group, Richard Bonner (22:06) – 9th place in age group. ACT and its employees enjoy supporting this annual event that raises money to support the Lancaster YWCA’s local Social Justice programs.
Later that same week, ACT practiced team-building while supporting the local community, sending a large group to volunteer at the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. 20 employees visited the facility in Harrisburg, and together they helped pack 1,285 bags over the course of two hours. This food bank services all of South Central PA and needs volunteers for various shifts Monday-Friday.
“These events were organized by employee-run committees who take great pride in being involved with our local community,” said Diane Baldassarre, VP of Administration. “Despite being a company that serves customers internationally, our employees and our families and friends live in Central PA, and we want to do whatever we can to give back.”
ACT invests in activities designed to influence positive change within our community and our employees. In August 2017, ACT donated the “Thermal Zone” to Lancaster Science Factory – a new heat transfer exhibit featuring three interactive stations to demonstrate each type of heat transfer: Convection, Conduction, and Radiation. ACT employees have continued partner with the Science Factory, sending a group last Fall to assist in readying space during their expansion period, and servicing the exhibit for its new placement in the enlarged facility.
